Mohei Tea brings the rich heritage and exquisite flavors of authentic Japanese tea to enthusiasts worldwide, preserving the traditional art of Japanese tea making.

Founded by our tea master Mohei, 5th generation of the Honda family, we leverage his deep knowledge of tea, mastery in high-quality brewing, and expertise in selecting exceptional leaves from across Japan to create unforgettable tea experiences.

Two other co-founders (Amin Nakagawa and Ryo Roche) are digital marketing and e-commerce specialists with entrepreneurial backgrounds. Lastly, the 4th co-founder (Taro Yamashita) is a content producer who worked with major, global media companies worldwide.

Together, we leverage our respective, and complementary skills, to elevate the sector of Japanese tea and find solutions to the current crisis that hits local producers around Japan.

Our Mission

The aging population, the declining prices due to cheaper mass-produced tea bottles, and the recent pandemic have severely impacted the Japanese tea industry. Each year, hundreds, if not thousands of local farmers are forced to close their businesses and sell their lands.

In response to this crisis, we created Mohei Tea to support local farmers and build a sustainable future by connecting them with tea lovers around the world.

We started with a selection of Mohei's best teas but we aim to set the highest standard in authentic, locally curated Japanese tea from various producers.

Our Products

Today, we offer a range of teas carefully selected and crafted by Mohei himself. Our collection includes seven authentic single teas, from award-winning Sencha to unique Hojicha, flavorful Genmaicha, and highly praised Gyokuro.

Additionally, we offer three blends and a Discovery Box featuring all ten teas for you to explore and find your favorites.

Mohei Tea goes beyond selling tea leaves. We also promote exceptional tea-ware craftsmen, offering top-quality Kyusu (teapots), tea cups, tea utensils, and accessories like our Portable Tea Infuser for those who wish to enjoy their tea on the go.
